RedPolka raises angel investing round worth Rs.1.6 crore

Redpolka.com, an online curation platform for women’s fashion and lifestyle has raised an angel round worth about Rs.1.6 crore. The funds were raised from five investors that will boost the platform’s services that deal with product discovery for online shoppers and showcasing niche products which have a strong online presence.

Though the company is just three months old, it has already partnered with 32 paying brands through the affiliate channel and is headed by marketing and brand management professional Vishakha Singh who had earlier worked at Future Media India Ltd. and Times Now. The raised funds will be used to increase its team and expand the reach of the platform through a mobile app – a trend which is embraced by countless e-commerce platforms around the country.

“We curate products based on affinity groups and interest graphs, with a weekly theme. We have in-house curators and designers and are looking to add automated curation to our portal,” says Singh, founder and director of RedPolka.

Redpolka faces competition from similar content-driven women’s fashion platforms like Helion-backed Wooplr and Tiger Global-funded Roposo. Both have raised $5 million each in their Series A funding earlier this year.
