PM Narendra Modi to address start-up founders in Silicon Valley

In order to share the motive behind the ‘Start up India, Stand up India’ campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the ‘Indo-US Start-Up Konnect 2015’ on September 27, during his visit to the USA.

Launched in August 15 this year, the campaign aims to promote bank financing for start-ups and offer incentives to boost entrepreneurship and job creation

Nasscom in collaboration with TiE Silicon Valley and IIM- Ahmedabad’s business incubator sector for innovation CIIE India will host the event to showcase the strengths of India’s start-up ecosystem.

In order to facilitate a start-up exchange and collaboration programme, Nasscom will sign an agreement with TiE Silicon Valley during the event. According to R Chandrashekhar, President of Nasscom, with this Indo-US Start-Up Konnect, they aim to showcase success stories of Indian entrepreneurs to highlight the rapidly rising global impact of technology innovation from India.

Modi Government has already adopted a lot of schemes in order to encourage the entrepreneurs of the country to launch their ventures which will eventually create more job opportunities.

CIIE will also sign a pact with corporates and academic partners in the US to jointly develop and scale-up disruptive innovations for India through financial aid and collaboration.

Kunal Upadhyay, CEO of CIIE has said these start-ups are representatives of the changing India where apart from just creating solutions for the upper middle-class urban consumer of India, the innovators are leveraging technology and their experiences to create massive impact by solving some tougher problems.

Modi is expected to visit an exhibition where Indian start-ups will showcase their products and solutions in different sectors like agriculture, healthcare, technology etc. During the visit the Prime Minister will also meet Apple CEO Tim Cook, Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg and electric carmaker Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk.
