Travelyaari to triple its headcount

The online bus booking portal, Travelyaari, which is is the flagship brand of Mantis Technologies, has announced plans to triple its headcount over the next two months.

Currently having little more than 200 employees, Travelyaari will be hiring people in departments of technology, operations, customer care and more.

Aruvind Lama, the founder of Travelyaari, said, “We have been growing at an explosive pace and require all new hires to understand the aspects of the sector in which we operate. All new hires are put through rigorous training and grooming, spanning 60-90 days. More employees will help to execute our growth plans, and cement their skill sets into the company DNA .”

Around 25-30 percent of the new hiring will be freshers. The mid-level recruits will account for 40% while senior hires will make up the remaining number.

Lama added,“Those with the ability to work in a fast-moving startup culture and the ability to get things done will be favored.”

This move could profoundly boost the online bus ticketing faction. Out of the huge bus ticketing market in India, which is worth Rs. 60, 000 crores, only 10%, is done online, and it is growing at 20% annually.

The company is headquartered in Bengaluru, and its principal shareholders include Gujarat Venture Financial Limited, Bennett, Coleman and Company Limited and Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (IIM Ahmedabad).
