“Women entrepreneurs should meet other women and support each other”

Famous talk show host, director and producer Lakshmi Rebecca who founded Red Bangle, a film production house, in 2011 was at the Global entrepreneurship summit at IIT Kharagpur on January 9th. During one of the events, entrepreneur’s talks, she shared some of her views on entrepreneurship.

While she talked about the growing entrepreneurial eco-system in India as a whole, she emphasis on women entrepreneurs. She elaborated on the five aspects (five M’s) that define entrepreneurship for women. First in the list is —Men. She elaborated on the fact that the country is still a patriarchal society and thre are a very the number of women entrepreneurs are very less in number. Encouraging women to follow their dreams, the talk show host said that the second M of entrepreneurship for ever woman is Mother and Father. Have supportive parents are the key to growth of women in the entrepreneurial eco-system.

Maternal instinct is the third M and women are very lucky to have such instincts and they should trust their maternal instincts as this will take every woman to the top. The next M in the list was Machine. Women across the country should understand the importance of technology.

Finally, Meeting other women and supporting each other is one of the most important things that a woman should remember. Every woman should understand each other and try to support each other.

Mukesh Jain, VP & Head, Nice India R&D was also present at the E-talks and he discussed his views on entrepreneurship in India, talked about the importance of continuous growth and innovation and how the youth are the bright future of the entrepreneurial eco-system.
