In a tie-up that will enable passengers to book auto-rickshaws while travelling to and from their respective railway stations, on-demand auto-rickshaw aggregator Jugnoo has partnered with Trainman, the online platform catering to Indian Railway travellers that assists them with various train-related information and intelligence.
This service will be available to users of Trainman mobile app in 35 cities where Jugnoo is currently operational. Samar Singla, the founder and CEO of Jugnoo, said, “We are happy to associate with Trainman for auto-rickshaw bookings to and from railway stations. While our organic user base is fast expanding, we look forward to more brand associations to cater to the masses making the hailing process seamless and easier for them.”
“Our tie-up with Trainman is in line with our vision to expand our customer outreach. Trainman will be directing its users to the Jugnoo app whenever they seek auto-rickshaw transport, thereby increasing our reach amongst the addressable target group. It’s a win-win situation for everyone,” added Singla.
The Indian railway is vast and widespread across the country with 7, 566 locomotives, 37, 840 coach vehicles. With a total of 6, 853 stations, this association would pave the way to a massive market for Jugnoo.
Trainman users searching for auto-rickshaws will now be introduced to a ‘Book an Auto’ button on their app, which will help them to locate nearby Jugnoo backed auto-rickshaws in that periphery, with the estimated time of arrival (ETA) for the closest auto available.
The ‘auto-rickshaw icon’ will be linked to the Jugnoo mobile application, whereby they would be able to book an auto-rickshaw immediately. Vineet Chirania, Director and CEO, Trainman said, “It is very common for train travellers to seek transport to and from railway stations to their respective drop points. Many travellers see this as a pain-point, and the rationale behind establishing Trainman has always been to be an enabler that addresses such pain-points.”
“We believe that this integration will ease the process for travellers and provide them with a seamless experience whilst move from point A to point B via auto-rickshaws,” added Chirania.
