Global Mobile App Summit and Awards (GMASA) 2016 set to be held in Bangalore in July this year

Creativity is sure to spark when app developers, marketers and managers converge at Global Mobile App Summit and Awards (GMASA) 2016 to be held in Bangalore,early July. Organised by Apps World Magazine, a magazine that focuses on mobile apps, developers, apps technology and much more, the event will be held in Sheraton Grand Bangalore.

From panel discussions, to keynote speakers being featured, to app exhibitions, the GMASA 2016 will be a hotbed of opportunity for all app developers.

Not only can the budding entrepreneurs showcase their creations at the summit to the whole world, they will also get to meet the some of the stalwarts of the industry who have made it big with their ventures.

The keynote issues that would be addressed at GMASA 2016 include mobile development and marketing- such as app monetization, mobile start-ups, and the various trends in the gaming, travel, business and mCommerce sectors.

The GMASA would be graced by speakers like- Arjun Ravi Kolady, the Business Head-E-commerce of Facebook in India and South Asia; Greg Moran, the Co-founder and CEO of ZoomCar; Shalini Poddar, the App Developer Lead in Google Asia; Ravi Bhaskaran, Head of the Business Development of Twitter in India and South Asia; Raghav Bahl, the Vice President of Bessemer Ventures Partners and Abhishek Narain, the Technical Evangelist for Microsoft, among others.

Apart from the discussion and brainstorming sessions, GMASA also has a coveted award sections where app developers pitch their ideas against others from around the world. Last year 57 apps were shortlisted from 2500 submissions.


Some of the well-known apps that had won the categories were Farmville 2: Country Escape in the ‘Best Game Apps’ category, Practo in the ‘Health and Fitness category’, Flipkart in the ‘Shopping’ category, Twitter in the ‘Social’ category and Uber in the ‘Transportation’ category.

GMASA also believes in encouraging budding entrepreneurs with big ideas; and awarding and recognising them definitely puts them in the limelight. For example, last year the ‘GMASA Best Student App Award’ went to Find My Car, which is an iPhone-compatible app that realizes your car after it is parked and activates the GPS on your iPhone momentarily to save your car’s location.

Other such examples are Playfan, which won the ‘Emerging Social Networking App’ category and Anirudh Ravichander, who won the ‘Celebrity Social Media Icon – 2015’.
