After partnering with BookMyShow earlier this week, Sanpdeal has now come with an in-app integration with Uber that will enable the e-commerce company’s customers to book a cab from its app, reports PTI.
One can also book flights, order food and pay bills directly through the platform. Currently available on Android version 4.0 (and higher), it will soon be rolled out for other platforms. Customers are requested to update their Snapdeal app.
The objective is to give a holistic experience. When a user books a flight or a hotel from the Snapdeal app, they can travel to the airport or the hotel using Uber, booked from the app itself without having the Uber app installed on their devices.
Tony Navin, the senior vice president, Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives, Snapdeal, said, “We are committed to building a reliable and frictionless digital ecosystem, that caters to the entire range of India’s consumption needs.”
One can now see ‘Book an Uber’ from the ‘Services’ tab in the Snapdeal app. One needs to enter the mobile number and Snapdeal password or can login Facebook or Google or OTP. There onwards, users can see the Uber API and UI get a cab.
Though this integration only allows users to pay for their cab rides in cash, Snapdeal is soon expected to integrate its wallet FreeCharge into it.

Snapdeal’s rival Paytm, on the other hand, had launched bus ticketing in partnership with RedBus back in 2012. It also launched movie ticketing by directly partnering with cinema houses like PVR, INOX and ticketing aggregator BookMyshow in March.
Both, Paytm and Snapdeal primarily operate as eCommerce marketplaces.
