Women-centric travel startup, Wovoyage received seed funding from Shabir Momin and Rohit Nanda from Singapore. The startup currently operates in India and Japan and they plan to use the capital raised to scale-up the products and services offered.
Talking about Wovoyage, Rohit Nanda said, “The business ethos of Wovayage is completely based on the concept of Woman’s freedom and Rashmi’s passion for travel.”
Built with the vision to make solo travel for women globally accessible and safe, Wovoyage is the brain child of travel enthusiast Rashmi Chadha. The company is looking to build a tech-enabled ecosystem that includes booking services, search and planning platforms, on-demand travel, and recommendation sites.
“It is a great platform especially for women from India, out of India to explore the innate desire to be a carefree wanderlust. Well researched approach and the travel prowess make this platform really interesting to streamline travel itinerary,” says Shabir Momin, MD & CTO, Zenga TV.
Calling it a “one-stop travel destination”, Wovyage’s founder Rashmi Chadha said their main agenda currently is to take the notch up every year. She added, “We are working on various new developments to make this platform more dynamic and robust.”
Wovoyage provides female tour guides to female travellers and designs safe tours that give a ‘real India experience’. Reportedly, the company specialises in budget travel and books women friendly hotels for their customers. They also organise group departures including concept tours like photography, yoga, trekking, cycling and more.
