To expand its user base, the real money gaming (RMG) platform Zupee has partnered with the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). The collaboration aims to widen Zupee’s audience by leveraging ONDC’s growing digital network and furthering the reach of its popular skill-based games.
Zupee, known for its online offerings like Ludo, Trump Cards, and Snake & Ladder, is now registered as a seller application on the ONDC platform. This strategic alliance will enable Zupee to deliver its games to a broader audience, positioning it for accelerated growth in India’s rapidly expanding online gaming space. ONDC, which promotes an open and diverse marketplace across various sectors, is expected to provide Zupee with a platform for customer acquisition and trust-building among its users.
Zupee, founded in 2018 by Dilsher Singh and Siddhant Saurabh, has quickly emerged as a significant player in the RMG sector. Its partnership with ONDC aligns with its mission to redefine the real money gaming industry by offering casual games that focus on skill. The Gurugram-based company has received backing from prominent investors such as WestCap Group, Tomales Bay Capital, Nepean Capital, and others, boosting its valuation to $600 million as of January 2022.
The ONDC partnership comes as the network expands its reach across diverse business sectors, including fintech, mobility, and hyperlocal delivery. ONDC’s managing director, T. Koshy, highlighted that Zupee’s integration would not only bring value entertainment to a larger Indian audience but also offer access to a broader range of products and services from a unified platform.
As India’s online gaming industry continues to boom, Zupee’s collaboration with ONDC could serve as a key catalyst for its growth. It could help attract new gamers while offering a trusted and seamless experience for existing users.
