Yes, it’s official. American thrash metal band Megadeth has replaced the grunge rock band Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington for a performance at Live Viacom18’s music and extreme sports event, MTV Xtreme, which will be hosted at the Delhi NCR’s Buddh International Circuit on February 16.

The replacement came as a result of STP having to cancel all their upcoming shows due to delays in recording. The Australian festival Soundwave, another venue where STP was to perform, released an official statement late last month saying, “The recording of the new album has now gone beyond schedule and sadly the availability of the recording studio, engineers and the producer or lack thereof dictates that the band have had to cancel their upcoming engagements.”

MTV Xtreme has also confirmed the decision of Megadeth on their Facebook page.

Megadeth will be joined by local hard rock veterans like Pentagram, Indus Creed, and Parikrama and younger Indian acts like post-grunge band Blakc and groove metal band Providence.
