Atal Innovation Mission partners with Startup India and Invest India to announce #TheStartupContest

Winning #TheStartupContest is no guarantee to a startup’s success, however, the early exposure and attention could be considered a viable path to success

All business, by nature, is competitive yet the startup landscape faces even tougher challenges. While there is a greater potential for market disruption and growth, the high stakes involved makes competition in this space even fiercer. Thus, it would only make sense for competitions to be held and that is exactly why the Startup India campaign has decided to roll out #TheStartupContest. Through this contest, participants will get to showcase their startup at the global startup capital, Israel.

Not only will the winners of the contest get to network and engage with the best in the innovation and startup ecosystem from India but Israel too – which is considered the world’s leading startup nation. #TheStartupContest will gain them exposure, validation and the possibility of funding – every startup’s bane.

While winning #TheStartupContest is no guarantee to a startup’s success, the early exposure and attention they receive could be considered a viable path to success.

Indian startups in the areas of water, health, agriculture, fintech, cyber security and Internet of Things (IoTs) can participate. The competition will culminate to and be a part of an exhibition that will be held on the sidelines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel in July.

It is being organized by NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), in partnership with Startup India and Invest India. While Startup India is looking to boost the startup ecosystem in the country and encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship, AIM’s objective is to promote innovation – even at school level.

The contest is currently open and will run up until Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Interested startups are being encouraged to submit their entries here.
