Chai Point introduces IoT-enabled tea dispensers

Taking tea serving to the next level, tea retail chain startup Chai Point is set to introduce IoT-enabled tea dispensing machines to corporate offices.

It is the company’s next step towards serving its product to office employees. The product will be officially launched on Friday.

Amuleek Singh Bijral, the co-founder and CEO of Chai Point, said, “It is a utility service we are offering to companies. Unlike regular tea machines, this will provide tea made from natural tea leaves.”

The new product, called boxC, is expected to bring 100 more corporate customers for the company by the end of the year, said Singh.

The company already has about 1000 semi-automatic dispensers across 100 companies. The tea dispensing machines will be connected to a cloud platform, which will also be accessible to customers who can keep track on the functioning of the machines as well as the billing process.

Chai Point has collaborated with partners making IT products in India for the boxC. Singh says that the machines will be adaptable to new software in the future.

The company selected five mid-sized corporates for its trial pre-launch in Bangalore and NCR. Chai Point currently serves more than 1.5 lakh cups of chai every day through orders as well as from its 100 physical stores located in five cities.
