Speech recognition start-up Uniphore receives investments from IDG Ventures
Chennai-based speech recognition solutions company Uniphore Software Systems announced its funding from IDG Ventures yesterday. The company will use the funding to upscale its main technology and development sectors and further increase its reach and presence in multiple markets across the world.
Uniphore’s speech recognition services are revolutionary and innovative. It allows the usage of speech to assist in the interaction between humans and machines and allows any software application to understand and reply to normal human speech. The company offers a range of speech recognition solutions that range from voice biometrics, virtual speech assistance and speech analysis. Progress in these interaction methods will help industries in engaging with customers in a much more user-friendly and personal manner.

Uniphore Solutions is based in IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai and was incubated there in 2008. Today, it has 80 employees working in offices around India, Phillipines and U.A.E. It is backed by investors like IDG Ventures India, India Angel Network, Yournest Fund and Stata Ventures.
