Huawei’s smart-phone e-brand, Honor, launched the highly anticipated Honor 8 Pro, designed to deliver optimised performance in a super-slim package. The device is exclusively available on Amazon.
The body of the phone measures just 6.97mm and packs a 14.47 cm, 2K display, dual-lens camera and a long lasting battery. As is practice with the Honor-makers, they have once again tied up with global brands to give an enriched smartphone user-experience. The brands they have partnered with this time around are Amazon, Gameloft, GoPro, Jaunt VR and Deep Silver Fishlabs.
Following the success of the Honor 6X, the brand has continued to partner with Amazon India to launch the handset as an Amazon Exclusive.
Honor 8 Pro price and availability
The Honor 8 Pro was exclusively available to Prime members for Prime Day, however, it is now opened for sale, priced at Rs. 29,999 for the 6+128GB storage variant and will be available in Midnight Black and Navy Blue color options. Honor 8 Pro specifications
The Huawei flagship product comes with a ROM of 128 GB and a RAM of 6 GB with expandable memory up to 128 GB. The hand-set’s size is 157 mm in length, 77.50 mm width and 6.97 mm in thickness. The Honor 8 has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 (2K), the display features a high resolution of 515ppi, and 16700K colors. It houses a Kirin 960, Octa-Core processor with an N + EMUI 5.1 operating system and the gadget includes a hall sensor, infrared sensor, Fingerprint sensor, proximity sensor, gravity sensor, gyroscope and more. Looking to address one of the main concerns their consumers share, the maker’s of the Honor 8 Pro have installed a long-lasting 4000 mAh Li-Po battery. However, one feature that consumers will definitely be interested in is the dual-rear camera of 12 MP + 12 MP and front-facing camera of 8 MP.
Honor 8 Pro looks to “Lead the Pack”
Multimedia and games shine on the Honor 8 Pro owing to its 2K display which boasts of the highest levels of color accuracy and detail. The display features a high resolution of 515ppi, 79% screen-to-body ratio, 16700K colors and 94.5% coverage of the NTSC color gamut. To deliver the best cinema-like experience to users, the Honor 8 Pro automatically optimises the screen display and accordingly adapts the levels of contrast.
The device comes bundled with a cardboard VR viewer and an OTA update for the Jaunt VR app containing a wealth of video content. Despite the high-performance, the phone’s 4000 mAh battery is pegged to offer provides 2 days of regular use and about 1.44 days of heavy use.
They have managed to tackle the issues of fragmentation and lag, that Android customers had been talking about, by running the phone on 16NM Kirin 960 octa-core processor backed by 128GB ROM (that can be further expanded via micro SD card to 256GB). Furthermore, the EMUI5.1 enables the general optimization of Android and minimizes stuttering issues. The EMUI 5.1 designed for Android Nougat, constantly learns from your behavior and habits. For example, if you tend to open an app at a certain time of the day, the system would keep track and load the app in anticipation of your opening it.
Honor has tried to give their users the perfect shot by installing the 12 + 12 megapixel dual lens-cameras that work in tandem. The monochrome lens captures a black-and-white image with depth of detail while the RGB lens ensures faithful and vivid colour reproduction and these are brought together by the software. The camera offers an aperture range of f/0.95–f/16 and its depth of field applies to both – still and video captures. Thanks to the EMUI 5.1, Highlights-a new feature co-developed with Go Pro, intelligently organizes photos by category and automatically generates video stories that are easily customisable.
