Berlin-based DCMN acquires 1SDK in an asset deal

Kochi and US-based startup 1SDK has been reportedly acquired by Berlin-based growth solutions provider DCMN in an asset deal that will see 1SDK’s platform integrated with DCMN’s growing suite of marketing technologies. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded by Andreas Dengler and Matthias Riedl in 2010, DCMN has its headquarters in Berlin and offices in San Francisco, London, Paris, Munich and India, with a team of more than 70 experts in creative, media, technology and digital business.

1SDK offers a SAAS-based platform for advanced mobile attribution analytics capabilities to mobile app developers. The tool works by measuring conversions from mobile advertising campaigns using metrics including retention, engagement and churn (or app uninstalls).

The asset deal will see 1SDK’s platform integrated with DCMN’s growing suite of marketing technologies, including its TV attribution tool. This deal will also allow DCMN to develop a proprietary mobile capability as well as launch new features, which has so far focused on developing its TV attribution technology. It will be seen leveraging the two platforms.

Cofounded by Anil Kutty, 1SDK was incorporated in the United States in 2013 with its team primarily based in Kochi. Kutty joins the DCMN as director of mobile products as will his team of developers.

The existing 1SDK users, which are primarily Indian startups and companies with mobile apps that include Hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar, will be transferred to the relaunched tool.

DCMN counts more than 90 digital brands in its portfolio including Wix.com, Wayfair and Gameloft.
