The spin-off was announced in August 2026, and fresh production information points to a January 2027 filming start. According to production listings, cameras are scheduled to roll in Vancouver, British Columbia, from January 19 through June 9, 2027.

The premise of Arrivals echoes the central mystery that made Manifest stand out when NBC premiered it in 2018.

The new series begins when a mysterious aircraft crash-lands in Denver. Its passengers survive, but they cannot remember who they are, where they came from, or why they are there.

A young social worker and an inexperienced Homeland Security agent team up to investigate the arrivals and uncover the truth. Their investigation eventually reveals a connection to a catastrophe that could threaten humanity.

The setup promises the combination of supernatural questions, government investigations, and interconnected personal histories that defined the original series. However, Arrivals will introduce a new ensemble rather than simply continuing the adventures of Flight 828’s passengers.

Meet the New Characters in Arrivals

Zoe, a 27-year-old social worker who grew up in foster care, is the central protagonist. Compassionate and courageous, she believes in the universe and horoscopes but struggles to trust other people.

Selena, a commanding leader with a history involving Wes, also appears as an expected series regular.

The recurring characters include Gary Bolton, a rule-focused Homeland Security director, and Francisco, a family man whose loyalty could push him into difficult moral decisions.

Joe is mentioned in the available character descriptions but has no separate breakdown, leaving questions about his role in the developing mystery.

The Original Manifest Creator Is Returning

The creative team behind Arrivals includes familiar names from the original drama. Jeff Rake, who created Manifest, is returning as co-creator, executive producer, and co-showrunner alongside Margaret Easley and Laura Putney, both veterans of the earlier series.

Robert Zemeckis and Jack Rapke are also executive producers through Compari Entertainment, alongside Len Goldstein and Jacqueline Levine. Tall Baby Productions and Warner Bros. Television are attached to the project.
