Benedict Cumberbatch is about to enter Guy Ritchie’s vicious world of wealth, betrayal and murder. The first trailer for Wife And Dog has arrived, and it looks like Ritchie is going back to the ingredients that made his crime and action films so addictive.
Cumberbatch leads a loaded British cast that includes Rosamund Pike, Paddy Considine, Anthony Hopkins, Cosmo Jarvis and James Norton. Written, directed, and produced by Ritchie, the film is set to hit U.S. theaters on February 19, 2027.

That simple premise gives Guy Ritchie plenty of room to play with the world he knows so well: powerful families, enormous fortunes, backroom deals, and characters prepared to cross almost any line to get what they want.
The Wife and Dog trailer hints at a film filled with sudden violence, sharp exchanges, and shifting loyalties. The director also has Viva La Madness in post-production, reuniting him with Jason Statham.
The project is particularly notable because it connects to Layer Cake, the 2004 crime thriller that starred Daniel Craig. Ritchie was originally expected to direct that film before Matthew Vaughn ultimately took over.
Jason Statham plays the central character in Viva La Madness, joined by Vinnie Jones, Jason Isaacs, Ben Foster, Camila Mendes, Jonny Lee Miller and Raúl Alejandro.
That means Ritchie has multiple major projects in film and television, making this run one of the busiest of his career.
Is Wife And Dog a Return to Classic Ritchie?
