Delhi Celebrates International Jazz Day

 

 

It is a time for celebrating culture with the UNESCO honoured International Jazz Day on April 30, which follows the International Dance Day by a day. With the ongoing jazz boom in the city, (read here) International Jazz Day also promises two good gigs at Potbelly Rooftop Cafe and Cocktails and Dreams Speakeasy.

 

Potbelly Rooftop Cafe’s event Jazz Up! will have Delhi’s slam poetry group Mildly Offensive Content and jazz duet Adil and Vasundhara, followed by Sonic, jazz musician based out of Delhi.

 

Cocktails and Dreams Speakeasy will have performances by Drift The Trio and Grey Area on the same day celebrating International Jazz Day. Drift The Trio are jazz musicians based out of Delhi, whose music is a blend of R n B, funk and fusion. Also based out of Delhi, Grey Area is known for their pet improvisational style, and has performed at major jazz venues across town. The event starts after 9 pm.
