Listen: Nanok Releases New Second Album

Dualist Inquiry’s recently emerged indie electronica record label Dualism released its first album Subterra (listen here) that comprised eight tracks by Indian electro producers, one of which was a subtly venomous single called “Rescue Me” created by Mumbai-based DJ-producer Nanok. On March 21, this young deep house/nu disco beat dropper released his seven-track second album titled Death by Shoelaces that kicks off with a track titled “Pillow Talk” featuring Dualist Inquiry. The album is available on Nanok’s (aka Jai Vaswani) self-owned indie label Black Flower Music.

For an artist who first started DJing in Mumbai’s clubs at the age of 15, after which he moved to London to study music production, Nanok’s latest experiments with his 25-minute long Death by Shoelaces brings hip-hop and newly crafted definitions of nu disco into a single stream, offering dancy as well as ambient-ish tunes in one tightly ripped album. Officially signed with Krunk for management, Nanok has even been touring Pune, Bangalore and Mumbai to launch his album since its release. Also, Raghu Dixit shared Death by Shoelaces on his Facebook page saying, “Kick ass album dude. Loved it. Keep it up. Let me know if you are ever performing in Bangalore”, who himself has been exploring with a host of electronica music since his time composing on the Bollywood film Bewakoofiyan (read here).
