Chennai residents flock to ride the first Metro ride in the city

Along with Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Jaipur, Chennai has also entered the league of cities with the metro rail system. TN CM J Jayalalithaa inaugurated the Chennai Metro Rail Limited’s passenger services between Alandur and Koyambedu. The facilities were launched through video conferencing included seven stations through the first stretch – Koyambedu, CBMT, Arumbakkam, Vadapalani, Ashok Nagar, Ekkattuthangal and Alandur.

Just like Chennai residents’ spirit to watch the latest Rajni movie on the first day’s first show, a large number of people gathered at the station 2 hours prior to the departure of the first train.

The Chennai metro system is also going to have women pilots, among which A Preethi was the first to pilot the debut ride. Even her male co-workers are thrilled about the achievement. All in all, with seven years in the making and holding the title of the costliest metro project in the country, the Chennai metro rail system has finally opened to rave reviews. How it affects Jayalalithaa’s reputation negatively is a question that Chennai residents will not be thinking for a long time.
