Sudha Reddy Joins Forces with UNICEF to Uplift Indian Adolescents

In a significant move towards bolstering the welfare of adolescents in India, businesswoman and philanthropist Ms. Sudha Reddy has officially partnered with UNICEF, marking her induction into the esteemed International Council. The collaboration was solidified during a private interaction and breakfast meeting with UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador, David Beckham, followed by Ms. Reddy’s participation in a high-level round table discussion chaired by Beckham himself.

UNICEF India Representative, Cynthia McCaffrey, expressed her pleasure in welcoming Ms. Reddy to the philanthropic partnership, emphasizing the alignment of their shared vision to empower vulnerable children and adolescents from marginalized communities. McCaffrey acknowledged Ms. Reddy’s compassion and leadership, hailing her as an example for other philanthropic leaders to unite their efforts in accelerating positive outcomes for children.




In response to her commitment to the UNICEF partnership, Sudha Reddy shared her motivation and vision for supporting marginalized children. She highlighted the instrumental role of working with UNICEF’s professional and technical team in India, citing their credibility and trust built over decades of impactful global work. Ms. Reddy expressed enthusiasm for the collaborative journey ahead, aiming to create a world steeped in compassion and kindness for children.

As a new member of UNICEF’s International Council, Sudha Reddy’s contributions over the next two years will specifically focus on empowering vulnerable adolescents aged 14-19. The primary areas of concentration will revolve around issues of child protection and employability. This initiative is set to complement UNICEF’s ongoing efforts, working collaboratively with the government, communities, and civil society to address the unique challenges faced by adolescents in India.

Ms. Reddy’s philanthropic track record includes impactful contributions to global foundations such as the Global Gift Foundation, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Fight Hunger Foundation, and Action Against Hunger. Her dedicated efforts earned her the prestigious Champions of Change Award from the Telangana Government in 2022, further solidifying her commitment to creating positive change on a global scale.

The UNICEF International Council stands out as a unique community, boasting over 135 private philanthropists and partners. These individuals, hailing from some of the world’s leading business families and global influencers, come together to optimize their philanthropic investments for the betterment of children.
