Hugh Jackman’s ‘The Death of Robin Hood’ Unveils Dark First Look

A24 has released a new featurette for The Death of Robin Hood, offering audiences a closer look at the highly anticipated action-drama starring Hugh Jackman. Directed and written by Michael Sarnoski, the film promises a fresh and darker take on one of literature’s most enduring legends.

Unlike traditional Robin Hood adaptations that focus on adventure and heroism, this version explores the character’s final chapter. The story follows an aging Robin Hood as he grapples with a lifetime of violence, crime, and difficult choices. After suffering a devastating injury in what he believes is his final battle, he encounters a mysterious woman who may offer him a path toward redemption.

Speaking about it, Hugh Jackman and Michael Sarnoski discuss how the classic folklore has evolved over generations and how their interpretation aims to deliver a more emotional and introspective narrative.

A Star-Studded Cast Joins the Journey

The film features an impressive ensemble cast led by Hugh Jackman. Joining him are Bill Skarsgård, Jodie Comer, Noah Jupe, Murray Bartlett, Faith Delaney, and Tabitha Smyth.

Known for directing acclaimed projects that blend emotional depth with genre storytelling, Michael Sarnoski appears poised to bring a grounded and mature perspective to the iconic outlaw’s tale.

With its June 19 theatrical release approaching, The Death of Robin Hood is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about films of the summer movie season.

Brad Dourif Reaffirms His Commitment to Chucky

While fans are eagerly anticipating Robin Hood’s return to theaters, horror enthusiasts received exciting news of their own this week.

Veteran actor Brad Dourif, the legendary voice behind Chucky, made it clear that he has no intention of stepping away from the role that helped define horror cinema for decades.

During an appearance at Spooky Empire in Orlando, Brad Dourif addressed fans directly, declaring: “Nobody’s doing Chucky but me.”

The statement has fueled speculation that the Academy Award-nominated actor will return for the upcoming Chucky movie currently being developed by franchise creator Don Mancini.

Chucky’s Future Looks Bright

Dourif first portrayed serial killer Charles Lee Ray in the original Child’s Play before becoming the unmistakable voice of Chucky. Over the years, he has remained one of the franchise’s most consistent elements, lending his voice to nearly every film and television adaptation.

The only major exception came with the 2019 reboot, which featured Mark Hamill as the voice of the killer doll. However, fans of the original continuity have long associated the character with Dourif’s iconic performance.

Mancini has previously indicated that the next Chucky film will shift back toward the darker tone of the original Child’s Play movies and Curse of Chucky, moving away from some of the more comedic elements that defined recent entries.

Two Beloved Franchises Generate Excitement

Whether it’s Hugh Jackman breathing new life into the Robin Hood myth or Brad Dourif reaffirming his ownership of one of horror’s most recognizable villains, both announcements have generated considerable excitement among film fans.

As The Death of Robin Hood prepares for its theatrical debut and Chucky’s future continues to take shape, audiences have plenty to look forward to in the months ahead.
