Impact Guru starts #PledgeABowl campaign to provide drinking water to stray animals in summer

Crowdfunding startup, Impact Guru has initiated a campaign called #PledgeABowl to raise funds for animal welfare NGOs to store drinking water for street animals and birds in Mumbai during the summer. Volunteers performed a skit at Girgaum Chowpatty on May 6th to spread awareness about the cause of keeping birds and stray animals hydrated.

Since birds and stray animals often suffer during the summer months and struggle to find suitable drinking water, to quench their thirst, clean drinking water will be left in bowls at designated spots in the across the city. It has been reported that with global temperatures rising it makes street animals susceptible to not only dehydration but sun-strokes as well.

In addition to Mumbai, the campaign will also be carried out in Pune and Aurangabad till 30th May 2017. For now, they want to make sure that they are reaching out to “every possible individual and organization” in the cities selected, says Piyush Jain, CEO & Co-Founder Impact Guru.

Animal welfare NGOs can join the #PledgeABowl initiative from Impact Guru’s website for the campaign, meanwhile individuals who are interested could also part-take and nominate their friends using the hashtag. All one needs to do is visit the website and start a fundraiser for Pledging a bowl.

Taking things further, Impact Guru has also started a petition on change.org through which they are hoping to get more people to support the movement.
