Ola and Microsoft partner to bring a new connected vehicle platform for car manufacturers worldwide

Ola and Microsoft have teamed up to build a ‘connected vehicle platform’ for car manufacturers worldwide the ride hailing app announced on Tuesday. In the global partnership, Microsoft will provide Ola with Microsoft cloud, artificial intelligence and productivity tool to enhance customer experience.

According to a report, at the India Today Conclave Next 2017, Bhavish Aggarwal, Ola co-founder and CEO, said, “There are synergies… The two companies working together can accelerate the future of mobility, especially in India and beyond.”

Sharing the stage with Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, Bhavish broadly shared information on the alliance while mentioning that the two will also look to harness the power of new technologies.

Microsoft will be Ola’s preferred cloud provider and its cloud provider, Azure, will be used to power Ola play – Ola’s existing connected car platform.

Microsoft’s AI and IoT will be leveraged to enhance driver experiences with telematics and navigation guidance. It will also provide custom digital experiences to auto manufacturers to offer their customers.

During their rides in an Ola Paly, customers will have access to productivity tools like Office 365 and Skype for business purposes during their commute. The partnership will also make for enhanced safety and security by enabling smarter navigation and breakdown predictions.

Nadella, who is on a two-day visit to India, said, “Today’s car is quickly becoming the ultimate computing device and together with Ola, we are focused on providing more intelligent, connected and productive experiences to our customers.”
