Finnish start-up, split, is all set to grab a share in cab hailing business of India

Finland based ride-sharing start-up, Split is planning to make its grand entry into the Indian market. By grabbing a share in the app-based cab hailing business of India, Split is planning to give a tough competition to the well-funded players like Uber and Ola. Started operating in Washington DC, Split is also the owner of the technology used by on-demand bus ride provider in Helsinki, Finland.

According to Teemu Sihvola, Head of Concept Development of Split, the company’s priority is to stabilize its business in Washington DC and then enter into a big market like India. Sihvola has also promised that Split is going to provide better service than Uber which will benefit Indian commuters.

However the company will not offer door-to-door service. Passengers will not have specific pick up or drop points but to areas that are easily accessible from their designated destinations which will eventually save a lot of time and money of the customers.
