Rahul Yadav to start a fresh chapter with a data analytics start-up

After a brief period of silence, Housing ex-CEO Rahul Yadav has announced his return to the start-up industry. His new venture will be a data analytics and visualisation firm and will aim at serving ecommerce companies. Prior to this announcement, he had stated that his new firm will be ten times larger than Housing.

Reports say that this new venture will concentrate on analysing large data to predict consumer attitudes and provide in-depth analysis on vital decision-making steps. Though the name of the start-up has not been revealed, sources say that Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal and Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma have made investments in the company close to Rs. 100 crore.

Sharma from Paytm said “He (Yadav) is definitely an incredible maverick. He has an understanding of technology and we hope he has learnt his lesson and moved ahead.”

Since his days in Housing, Yadav had been interested in data analytics. In fact, much of Housing’s infrastructure and functioning model was based on using state-of-the-art analytics that pertain to the Indian real estate industry. Towards the end of Yadav’s tenure in Housing, the company had acquired data firm Realty BI.

Recently, Housing saw another exit when Suvonil Chatterjee, the company’s Chief Design Officer ended his tenure. Chatterjee was responsible for building the clean UI and aesthetics of Housing.com. Joining the dots, one can see that since Yadav’s new company will be based on visualizations; there can be a big chance that Chatterjee may be involved in this.
