She Capital has launched a new initiative 21 For 2021, supported by the Cartier Women’s Initiative and ITC, to shine a spotlight on new innovative start-ups that are women-led. The initiative gathered submissions across social media platforms, and in little less than two weeks, it received more than 600 entries from across the country.
Anisha Singh, Founding Partner of She Capital, said the platform was founded with the very premise of helping fortify the entrepreneurial ecosystem for women-led start-ups. “The 21 companies are just phenomenal just like the founders that lead them. We hope to do an offline event later this year to meet up and cheer them on in person,” she said. “Envisioned as a multi-year property, the inaugural edition of the platform will see the chosen start-ups featured in an online snippet series through quotes and videos. Through its focus on female-led businesses, 21 for 2021 will help bring to front some cutting-edge innovative new start-ups that are women-led in India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and continue to shine the light on strong women-led start-ups.”
Jayant Awasthi, who anchors ITC’s engagements with the Start-up Ecosystem, said their philosophy of Nation First, Sab Saath Badhein, ITC has always worked for women empowerment. “This includes a social investments program that enables the development of entrepreneurial skills in rural women and has reached over 75,000 beneficiaries to date,” Awasthi said. “To further encourage and promote the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst women, we are happy to extend a small token of our appreciation to laud the efforts of the 21 entrepreneurs here.”
