Bangalore-based Carnatic rock band Agam released its latest eight-minute long single titled “Over the Horizon” on April 15. It would be fascinating to know that the word ‘Agam’ in Tamil means inner self. Also, the band’s debut six-track album was titled The Inner Self Awakens (listen here). With Malayalam lyrics and gritty bass lines and riffs, the new introspective single is part of the band’s upcoming second full-length album which is due December 2014.
The single has been mastered by Ashish Manchanda whose oeuvre includes the likes of A.R Rahman, Amit Trivedi and Avial among others. Agam, who takes its inspiration from Dream Theatre, Rush and Indian Ocean, has even got a new logo, which according to its Facebook page is, ‘The new brand identity for Agam’.
