NIESBUD and deAsra Foundation sign MoU to generate jobs through entrepreneurship development

The MoU will Facilitate funding, providing all business services such as registrations, legal assistance, marketing, etc under one roof.

Looking to accelerate economic growth, the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) and not-for-profit deAsra Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). They aim to achieve this through generating jobs via large scale initiatives and entrepreneurship development.

The Pune-headquartered deAsra has made free online ‘Business Guides’ available under the MoU. Starting the initiative with 75 business reference guides, it will soon be increased to 250 businesses. These guides entail lessons for new and existing entrepreneurs on fully functional business plan preparation to its execution and functioning in easy-to-understand formats. Each Business Guide encapsulates business specific registration requirements, funding sources, setup and marketing activities along with required processes, forms and documents.

The National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt of India. It was established with the objective of training, supporting and sustaining existing and potential entrepreneurs across the country.

The MoU was signed with 5 major objectives in mind the first being to promote a culture of entrepreneurship across the country by providing Entrepreneurship Education and Training. Secondly, they intend to provide hand-held support to potential entrepreneurs to set up enterprises and provide necessary mentoring if required thereafter. The third aim is to provide necessary support to up-scale existing enterprises. They would assist in obtaining funds for the enterprise and lastly, create a mentor Support Network across India.

Commenting on the occasion, Ms. Jyotsna Sitling, Director General, NIESBUD, said “In deAsra we have found an amenable partner who can translate this vision into action. Key learnings of deAsra in providing mentor support through information, guidance and handholding would be leveraged & upscaled through this partnership.”

deAsra Foundation’s CEO Ms. Pradnya Godbole said, “The fact that we will be creating co-branded published materials, website, co-developed training material, events, communication collateral publications etc., is testimony to the long term vision and mission that both the organizations are aiming for. Our immediate plan is to now take the entrepreneurship and job creation agenda national.”
