Skyharbor Bags Golden Gods Award Nomination

Having been added to the Download Festival 2014 line-up, Skyharbor are raring to go. Playing alongside Linkin Park, Opeth and several others, they have been nominated for the Golden Gods awards alongside bands like Orphaned Land. Also playing the Graspop festival later this year, 2014 can’t get better for Keshav Dhar, founder and guitarist, who released their first album two years ago, and have been coming out with new original material only sporadically since.

Also nominated in the Global Metal category are Israeli folk metal band Orphaned Land, Argentina folk metal band Skiltron, Indonesian thrash metal band Godless Symptoms and Iranian black metal band From The Vastland.

In 2010, Mumbai metal act Demonic Resurrection won the Global Metal award, after releasing their third full-length album, “The Return To Darkness”. Thus, a continuing trend of Indian nominations has ensued, which will hopefully lead to more international recognition for all genres of Indian bands from across the country.

Currently under the process of writing and recording a second Skyharbor album, which promises to be lethal, composer Keshav Dhar, who originally formed the band as solo-project Hydrojent, stands a good chance with his band at winning the award, despite tough competition. With Anup Sastry of Intervals on drums, and Tesseract’s ex-frontman Dan Tompkins on vocals, Skyharbor’s gigs across the country have ‘harboured’ a lot of fans, who all show their support towards this recent esteemed nomination.
