WhatsApp to revamp totally; will enable UPI-based payment and other updates

The most popular social application, WhatsApp is reportedly testing new updates. The new features are aimed at bringing convenient experience for chat application users. The company is gearing up to launch payment services in India, in order to support demonetization movement. It is already in talks with government officials and has said clearly that they want to contribute towards Digital India initiative.

In a video posted earlier on Indian Express, WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton has already said India is an important country for the company. “India is critically important, it is our leading market. India guides us with respect to what we build and how we build it,” Acton said. Additionally, WhatsApp is exploring business plans that will help it monetise its 1.2 billion user base “in a way that is clean, straightforward, simple and spam-free communication”.

More tweaking

Out of all the considerations and updates, the company is also testing another method which aims at smoothening the chat experience for users.

According to Android Police, the California based application is testing a new feature that will allow users to send multimedia files to more than one contact at once. Earlier, the application had its limitation, as users could only send a file to a single contact at once, however soon it might be changed. The update will provide users to have no limit on number of contacts that are to be sent at once, it works the same way when you send messages to group and individual chats.

The update was spotted on the latest Android beta version. For commercial use, the application will roll the update soon.
