Gadkari urges Indian-Americans based in Silicon Valley to help in Start-up Movement

The Silicon Valley professionals of Indian origin have been heavily urged by union minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday to participate in India’s Startup Movement.

Gadkari was addressing a series of meetings organised by various outfits of professionals of Indian-origin based in Silicon Valley over the last two days, which was taking place in Northern California state of the United States, according to an official statement.

In the audience were present Global Indian Technology Professionals Association (GITPRO) and TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) US Chapter, among others.

The Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Minister, said, “The government’s revolutionary policy initiatives have brought about a lot of positivity among the entrepreneurs across the globe and today India has the world’s third largest number of start-ups.”

He urged the professionals to bring their innovations and technologies to their native country in key sectors of the economy, particularly in the infrastructure sector like roads transport, highways and shipping as well as in the road safety programmes.

This move of urging the Silicon Valley professionals can also be seen as invitation, so that they could take advantage of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious policy initiative of “Ease of doing Business” and contribute to the success of “Make in India”.
