Yuvraj Singh funded startup Vyomo to be taken over by Naturals

Yuvraj Singh funded Vyomo, which provides beauty salon doorstep services, is all set to become a part of Naturals for an investment of controlling stake of Rs. 100 crore.

Vyomo will be renamed Naturals@ Home, enabling it access to a large pool of stylists and wider reach. Currently, Naturals has around 550 salons in 80 cities, while the Bengaluru-based tech-enabled hyperlocal startup has a presence in 5 cities. It now plans to expand to 80 cities in the next six months.

It is first of a kind deal, where a brick-and-mortar salon chain is collaborating with an app-based beauty services aggregator.

Abhinav Khare, founder of Vyomo, said, “We get access to 7,500 Naturals stylists at almost no incremental cost with this deal. We were lacking in the salon experience but post this deal, we will have the capacity be able to service 25,000 customers a day,”

The investment will be used to enhance the technology and expand to meet customers demand, stated Khare. He also informed that the management at Vyomo won’t change, and the board will have representation from both entities,

It also paves an entrance for Naturals, India’s largest salon chain into the on-demand beauty services space. CK Kumaravel, chief executive of Naturals, stated that almost 30 percent of the beauty and wellness segment is moving to home services.

He said, “We have been salon specialists, but we realised that on demand services are playing a very important role in the beauty space now. Since we don’t understand the back end and how the tech space works, the deal with Vyomo opens up a completely new opportunity for us.”
