MobiKwik ties up with IRCTC’s Food on Track

With an objective to facilitate train passengers the option of cashless payments while ordering food, MobiKwik has partnered with IRCTC’s e-catering app Food on Track.

This tie-up comes at a time when the mobile payments firm’s user base has seen a steady growth, which currently stands at nearly 32 million. The company also enables direct booking of tickets instantly on IRCTC Connect.

Mrinal Sinha, the COO of Mobikwik, said, “MobiKwik became the primary wallet on Connect last year, and this year we are taking our partnership a step further by offering e-payment options on the e-catering app as well.”

“This will greatly benefit users who won’t have to worry about paying in cash or search for change, given that trains halt at platforms for a few minutes only,” he added.

Passengers can now pre-order food at over 300 stations across the country from prominent food chains which includes Dominos, Punjab Grill and KFC, among others.

“Transactions under MobiKwik is fast and convenient,” claims Sinha. “Users can make payments even in areas with patchy mobile connections as it is the lightest mobile wallet app in the country,” he adds.

MobiKwik has also enabled cash loading through cash pick up in select cities and cash deposit at over 1,00,000 locations across 1,000 cities in India. According to the company, this may be helpful for those who do not have access to net-banking services, or those who don’t possess credit and debit cards.

“Users can see all cash loading locations in the ‘nearby’ feature on the app. The service recently completed 1 million transactions,” Sinha added.
