Fight Those Post-Diwali Blues

Diwali is off the corner and you’ve finished all those gift hampers that came your way already. We would say it’s time to hit the gym, but considering how old habits die hard, here’s a week more worth of fun to come your way before you give up entirely on all the festivities and face them bluesy-woozy.

Treat yourself to a hamper. No, seriously. For instance, Starbucks is giving away a special fruit and nut chocolates collection, a mug and an Indian estates coffee blend mug. Since you’ve grown addicted to the said Diwali hampers, this is a perfectly useful one to avail. Or, pamper yourself and go for a Premium Hamper from Shangri-la if you are in Delhi. You get a carved leather box filled with Patchi chocolates, Danish cream cheese, pitted green olives, home – made preserves, gherkins, Indian sweets in a ceramic diya-shaped bowl, exotic nuts, sparklers and incense sticks. And the best part, no one needs to know, jaa?

Mughlai and Awadhi cuisines are the flavour of the month in Delhi as winter sets in and no place better than Dilli 32 to bring on the whole contemporary twist to it. You get to choose between a Nawabi Gosht Stew, Shahi Galawat ke Kebab, Mirchi ka Halwa and a Shakahari Kheechra.  Or you could sip on some Bellini (Sparkling Wine, Rose, Lychee, and Raspberry) Som Rus (Rum, Fresh Ginger, Mint and hint of spices) Shahi Shikanji or bottled homemade lemonade, or what is known as Banta.

21 Gun Salute in Gurgaon has a special Diwali offer, which goes on till next week. Try their Noor-e-Murgh, Patatas Aioli, Hara Bhara Kebab, Nizam Bharwa Aloo, Nawabi Seekh and Mango Almond Kheer  if you’re in a mood to indulge in good Indian cuisine presented in regal environs. It’s Diwali after all so why not go all out?

The Crown, Residency Towers, T Nagar in Chennai offers a grand view from the Deck, plus options to indulge in delicacies available especially for Diwali, plus a display of fireworks after the meal.

Kebab Corner, at Intercontinental in Mumbai, has a special menu for Diwali with dishes like Lali Khumb Tikka, Nimbu Mirchi ke Jheenga, Chutney Wale Paneer, Dal Murgh, Nimbu Mirchi ke Jheenga, Lali Khumb Tikka, Bhune Badam ka Sheera. This offer goes on from November 9 till November 17.
