Karnataka Minister launches ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ with tech firms

Recognising the contribution of tech companies in putting Karnataka on the global map, State Information and Technology Minister Dr. Ashwath Narayan C.N. launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign from the city-based International Tech Park, housing more than 90 companies and Global Capability Centres (GCCs).

Bengaluru has been named the 8th strongest startup ecosystem globally alongside the likes of Shanghai, Tel Aviv, London and the San Francisco Bay Area, by the Global Startup Ecosystem Index Report 2022, while Karnataka holds the distinction of ‘Best Performer’ in the Government of India’s States’ Startup Ranking-2021.

To mark the occasion tech firms from across sectors – IT, ITes, AVGC and Fintech – participated in the launch of the campaign.

“Happy to start the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign with IT companies at the ITPL, Whitefield, Bengaluru – one of the tech hubs in the city. I sincerely thank all the tech companies and communities for their contributions and support in placing Karnataka on the global map,” Dr Naryana, who also holds the portfolios of Higher Education; Science and Technology; Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood in the Government of Karnataka, said on Twitter.

The nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to encourage people to bring the tri-colour home and hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence.

The International Tech Park or more commonly known as ITPL houses 90+ IT, ITes, AVGC and Fintech companies and GCCs, and is based in Whitefield in Bengaluru. It is the oldest tech park of the city and was created through a joint venture between India and Singapore in 1994. It is a large facility, comprising 10 buildings and provides campus facilities for multinational giants.
