Kanye West Says He ‘Dreams’ of Apologizing to Jay-Z After Past Feud and Hurtful Comments

Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, is once again making headlines — but this time for a rare moment of public reflection and remorse. In a now-viral post on X (formerly Twitter), the rapper said he has been dreaming about apologizing to his longtime friend and collaborator Jay-Z.

“All my dreams have been about apologizing to Jay Z,” Ye wrote over the weekend.

This admission marks a surprising turn for Kanye West, who has had a tumultuous relationship with Jay-Z over the past several years. Once known as one of hip-hop’s most powerful duos — co-releasing the iconic 2011 album Watch the Throne — the two have drifted apart following a series of personal and professional disputes.

Kanye West’s latest emotional confession seems to be rooted in regret over comments he made earlier this year about Jay-Z’s family. In a since-deleted post from April, Ye directly apologized for suggesting that Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s children, twins Rumi and Sir Carter, had mental disabilities — a remark made during one of his frequent online rants.

“I’m sorry Jay Z,” Ye tweeted at the time. “I be feeling bad about my tweet but I still feel I gave my life to this industry and thought so many people were my family. But when I needed family… none of these rap n—as had my back.”

Kanye West also touched on their creative falling out in a separate April post, referencing Jay-Z’s verse on “Jail” from Ye’s 2021 album Donda. In that track, Jay-Z raps, “Stop all of that red cap, we goin’ home,” — an apparent jab at Kanye West’s highly controversial support for Donald Trump and his signature MAGA hat. Many fans speculated that the lyric confirmed tension between the two, though it also hinted at a possible reconciliation.

“This might be the return of The Throne,” Jay-Z rapped, fueling brief hopes of a musical reunion.

Kanye West’s emotional transparency continued this week as he also expressed a desire to repair his relationship with another former friend and collaborator, Pusha T. It’s a pattern that signals the Grammy-winning artist may be seeking redemption in both his personal and professional life.

Though neither Jay-Z nor Beyoncé has publicly responded to Kanye West’s latest statements, fans online are divided. Some are hopeful that this could lead to a long-overdue reconciliation, while others remain sceptical, citing Ye’s history of unpredictable and often offensive behaviour.

Still, Ye’s confession stands out as one of his more vulnerable public moments — and it’s sparking fresh conversations about forgiveness, accountability, and the weight of celebrity feuds.
