Rapper Pooh Shiesty Charged in Alleged Kidnapping and Armed Robbery Case

Rapper Pooh Shiesty is facing serious federal charges after prosecutors accused him of orchestrating a violent kidnapping and robbery tied to a business dispute involving Gucci Mane’s record label, 1017 Records.

According to federal authorities in Texas, the incident allegedly unfolded earlier this year when three music industry professionals traveled to Dallas for what they believed would be a legitimate business meeting. Instead, prosecutors claim the meeting turned into a coordinated armed confrontation.

Alleged Armed Studio Takeover

Investigators allege that Pooh Shiesty, along with eight co-defendants, carried out a planned takeover at a recording studio on January 10. Authorities described the rapper as the central figure behind the operation.

Prosecutors claim the group used firearms to intimidate the victims and force compliance. One of the alleged victims, described as a record label executive, was reportedly taken into a private room where contract-related tensions escalated.

Officials allege that during the confrontation, a firearm was displayed, and the victim was pressured into signing documents linked to a contract dispute. Personal belongings, including jewelry and cash, were also reportedly taken during the incident.

Violence and Confinement Allegations

The situation reportedly escalated further outside the private room. Prosecutors allege that the remaining victims were also threatened at gunpoint, robbed, and physically assaulted. One individual was reportedly choked to the point of near unconsciousness.

Authorities say the victims were prevented from leaving the studio during the incident, effectively turning the encounter into a kidnapping situation under federal law.

Evidence and Investigation

Federal investigators have cited a range of evidence supporting the charges, including surveillance footage, mobile phone records, and social media activity. Additionally, data from an electronic monitoring device reportedly placed Pooh Shiesty at the scene at the time of the incident.

This detail is particularly significant, as the rapper was reportedly under home confinement related to a prior federal conviction at the time.

Law enforcement agencies also pointed to travel records indicating that several co-defendants journeyed from Memphis to Dallas, suggesting premeditation.

All nine defendants in the case have been charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping, a federal offense that carries a potential life sentence if convicted.

Legal representatives for the rapper have stated they are reviewing the allegations and have not yet issued a detailed response. As of now, the charges remain allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Gucci Mane’s Industry Influence

Gucci Mane, widely regarded as a pioneer of trap music, has played a major role in shaping modern hip-hop and launching emerging artists. His label, 1017 Records, has been instrumental in developing new talent within the industry.

While representatives for the label have not publicly commented on the case, the situation has drawn widespread attention due to its high-profile connections and serious legal implications.

As the case moves forward in federal court, more details are expected to emerge regarding the alleged events and the roles of each defendant. The outcome could have significant legal and professional consequences for those involved.
