YOGa Clean Air Raises $2.09 million to Take ‘Near-Zero’ Indoor Air Across India

YOGa Clean Air has raised $2.09 million (₹20 crore) in fresh funding to expand its whole-space air purification technology across Indian homes, schools, hospitals, offices and gyms.

For millions of Indians, escaping polluted air does not end when they walk through their front door. Outdoor pollution can infiltrate homes, workplaces, schools and other enclosed spaces, making indoor air quality an increasingly urgent concern.

Now, YOGA Clean Air is betting that technology can change that equation.

The company announced a $2.09 million (₹20 crore) funding round led by Info Edge Ventures, with participation from Zomato/Eternal founder Deepinder Goyal and Three Words Capital. The Bengaluru-headquartered clean-air technology company plans to use the capital to accelerate its expansion across India.

YOGa says its systems already protect more than 5,000 families and hundreds of institutions across 11 cities, including homes, hospitals, schools, corporate offices, and gyms.

YOGa’s Big Claim: Single-Digit Pollution Indoors

YOGa’s proposition goes beyond the traditional air purifier.

While conventional purifiers typically clean the air within a particular room, YOGa uses what it calls Clean Air Bubble technology to treat the entire indoor environment.

The system filters incoming air and maintains slightly higher air pressure inside a protected space than outside. The resulting pressure difference is designed to prevent polluted outdoor air from entering while the system simultaneously manages carbon dioxide levels.

According to YOGa, its technology has brought indoor pollution down to single-digit levels, even when outdoor pollution has crossed 900 µg/m³.

IIT Delhi has also independently validated the company’s performance claims, giving its technology an important credibility boost as it seeks to scale.

From Delhi’s Toxic Air to Cleaner Homes

India’s severe air-pollution episodes have created a growing market for technologies designed to protect people indoors.

YOGa says its systems have shown they can maintain very low indoor pollution levels even during extreme outdoor pollution events.

The company argues that clean air should not require people to relocate, avoid certain cities or drastically change their lifestyles because of deteriorating outdoor air quality.

“Clean air in India is not a privilege but a right,” said Sachin Panwar, Co-founder and CEO of YOGa Clean Air.

Panwar said the new investment will allow the company to bring its clean-air systems to more homes, schools and hospitals across the country.

Referral-Led Growth Attracts Investors

Perhaps one of the most notable aspects of YOGa’s business is how it claims to have grown.

The company says it has expanded largely through customer referrals and word of mouth, rather than conventional marketing.

YOGa also reports a 100% renewal rate for its annual maintenance contracts, which it says reflects strong customer retention after users experience its systems.

Info Edge Ventures cited the company’s technology, customer retention, referral-led growth and operating track record as reasons for backing the business.

“YOGa has built a differentiated technology platform in a large and increasingly important market, with strong evidence of product-market fit,” said Chinmaya Sharma, Partner at Info Edge Ventures.

YOGa Targets Tier-1 and Tier-2 Cities

The ₹20 crore investment will support YOGa’s next phase of expansion.

The company plans to deepen its presence in cities where it already operates while entering additional Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities.

Its current footprint includes Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

But YOGa’s ambitions extend beyond homes and commercial buildings.

The company says it intends to explore applications in public transport and outdoor environments, potentially taking its clean-air infrastructure model into spaces where people are exposed to pollution during daily travel.

Can Clean-Air Infrastructure Become a New Category?

Founded in 2010 by Sachin Panwar and formally established as YOGAN Solutions Pvt Ltd in 2019 with co-founders Deepak Raina and Gaurav Nagar, YOGa has positioned itself around engineered indoor air quality rather than standalone purification devices.

The company currently holds two patents covering its technology.

Its leadership team combines expertise across research, HVAC engineering, finance and operations, including IIT Delhi professor Mukesh Khare as Non-Executive Chairman.

The bigger opportunity could be the shift in how Indians think about air purification.

Instead of simply buying a purifier and placing it in a room, YOGa is pushing a more ambitious idea: turning an entire building into a controlled clean-air environment.

With fresh capital from prominent investors and pollution levels continuing to challenge India’s major cities, YOGa is now preparing to take that proposition to a much larger market.

The company’s message is blunt: Indians should not have to accept toxic air as the price of living in a particular city.

And its $2.09 million funding round could be the next major step in turning that belief into a scalable clean-air business.
