Florence Pugh To Star in Yungblud’s Music Video for New Song ‘Zombie’

The internet went into meltdown this week after English alt-rock star Yungblud announced that Florence Pugh will star in the music video for his new single, Zombie. The Oppenheimer and Thunderbolts actress plays a nurse in the video, marking one of her most unexpected crossovers into the music world yet.

The singer-songwriter, real name Dominic Harrison, teased the collaboration in a cryptic Instagram post on Wednesday, sharing a clapperboard tagged with Pugh’s name and the caption, “Friday 👀 @florencepugh.”

Florence Pugh quickly reshared the post on her Instagram Story, adding, “Very cool things to come,” while also commenting, “I’m so proud of you and what we made. Well done, babe,” sending fans into a frenzy.

The highly anticipated track Zombie is part of Yungblud’s upcoming album IDOLS, which drops on June 20.

The British rocker had hinted last month during an album playback event that a “massive f***ing British actress” was involved in the Zombie music video, without naming names. “This song is a ballad,” he said. “It’s about writing something that lets the listener feel what they need to feel — not just what I felt.”

Yungblud’s Emotional Growth and Personal Reflections

Beyond the music, Yungblud has been candid about his personal evolution in recent interviews. Speaking on the We Need To Talk podcast, he opened up about taking space from his longtime partner, Jesse Jo Stark, the daughter of Chrome Hearts founder Richard Stark and goddaughter to pop legend Cher.

Calling Jesse “the love of his life,” Yungblud described their temporary separation as a necessary step in his emotional growth. “I was a shell,” he said. “But I will love that girl until I die.”

The Doncaster-born musician also reflected on past relationships, including a highly publicised romance with Halsey, which he described as “epic” but ultimately unsustainable.

The Pugh Effect: Star Power Meets Music Video Magic

Florence Pugh’s star power has clearly elevated Zombie from a fan-favourite track to a cultural moment, drawing mainstream attention to Yungblud’s latest project. With her ever-growing résumé and fearless performances, she serves as a powerful visual and emotional anchor for the video’s story.

As Yungblud continues to push creative boundaries in both sound and storytelling, Zombie is poised to become one of his most iconic releases to date, thanks in no small part to Florence Pugh’s unexpected, unforgettable cameo.
