Manna Dey Dies at 94

Prabodh Chandra Dey, more popularly known as Manna Dey, one Bollywood’s irreplaceable voices, died last night due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 94. Recipient of Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards, Dey’s most renowned contribution to the Hindi film industry were songs like “Ek Chatur Naar” from Padosan, “Zindagi Kaise Hai Paheli” from Anand, “Ae Meri Zohrajabeen” from Waqt and “Yaari Hai Imaan Mera” from Zanjeer among others.
