While Dhiraj will drive some of the proactive initiatives by Airtel Payments Bank to accelerate the adoption of digital/cashless payments across the country, he will primarily be responsible for product development, digital delivery and development of digital marketing platforms.
Dhiraj has worked in Silicon Valley with start-ups and large companies as well and during his experience of over fifteen years he has worked with companies such as Prosper, Visa, AT&T, Yahoo and Wipro. He was Sr. Director at IAC (the parent company of Expedia, Match and Tinder.com), from where he has moved to Airtel Payments Bank. Speaking on the appointment, Shashi Arora wished him the best and added “I am confident that his rich experience will add value to our endeavour to deliver world-class digital banking and payments solutions to every Indian through innovative products.”
Airtel Payments Bank is looking to develop a nationwide digital payments ecosystem, consisting of over 3 million merchant partners including kirana stores, shops, restaurants, etc. Being a fully digital and paperless bank, customers and merchants, will be able to access services through their mobile phones, including all feature and basic mobile phones.
