Day 1 of Waves 2013, the cultural festival set in the land of beaches, saw a lot of new pages unfurling and left a few loose ends unattended. Day 2 brings a package loaded with answers. By answers we mean, the ‘final rounds’ to a spate of events after the first day’s eliminations. The fate of the participants will be decided today.
Kicking off with final rounds for quizzes, solo singing, acoustic sessions, JAM, Classical solo singing, photography competition, and Dhinchak (the Bollywood dance competition), day 2 will prep up for the second flagship event, Mr.and Ms. Waves, which will take place at day’s end. This event searches for individuals with an oomph that distinguishes them from the rest. Personality will be the virtue put to test. The wisest and most charming will emerge.
For those not engaging in extroversive events, a detour into alternatives is always there. Epizon, designed for the marketing wizards, aims to bring out the true seller in a participant. Here, a product will be sold as a service in alignment with the general theme of the festival, which is ‘Hit The Rewind’. Panorama, an art event for students with skills stored in brush strokes, expects participants to paint a picture that captures the so-called “Roman” elements hidden in Goa’s landscapes.
Wrapping up the magnanimity of the day will be the final round of SeaRock. This competition, that has seen bands like Soul’d Out (Delhi), Verses (Bangalore) and Heartbeat (Kolkata) revving crowds up in the past, has a natural hype surrounding it this year.
