Google on hiring spree in China, making a comeback?
The Press Trust of India has reported that internet giant Google is thinking of making a comeback into China, five years after it had a fallout with the Chinese government. The talk about this move came into the light after Google posted several job postings on social media.
LinkedIn, the online professional network alone had around 60 jobs for people from Beijing and Shanghai. This was reported by the state-run China Daily. The daily also reported that “What started as a trickle of job postings in December gained momentum around the year-end and acquired dimensions of a vacancy deluge this week, as if to reinforce that whatever Google does tends to be on an epic scale”.
Google, so far has not made any announcements in this regards. However, from the number of advertisements that it has posted, it looks like the company is seriously considering the move. It is seeking a wide range of professionals from executives to interns across various verticals like ad sales, marketing, client relations, technical services, customer service etc.
Though there have been no official confirmation, the China Daily’s report said “people who have worked with Google said that the company may announce its return in the first half of 2016”.
