Honda unveils much awaited Honda BR-V at Auto Expo 2016
Developed exclusively for the Asian market, Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), today unveiled its new model Honda BR-V at the Auto Expo in Greater Noida.
Takahiro Hachigo, President, CEO & Representative Officer of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. was also present during the unveiling. Honda BR-V is a Crossover Utility Vehicle with a combination of bold, sporty appearance and handling of an SUV together with great utility and spacious cabin with 7 seats for the whole family.
At the motor show, the company also showcased its sedan Honda Accord. HCIL plans to further strengthen its sedan line-up in India and re-introduce the Honda Accord later this year. Boasting of exhilarating and highly fuel efficient power train, the Accord is now on display.
“India is the largest contributor to the Asia & Oceania region and the 4th largest contributor for Honda’s automobile sales globally making it one of the most important and fastest growing markets for us. In order to further accelerate growth in this important market, Honda is committed to continue providing challenging products, which are unique to Honda and exceed our customers’ expectation. The introduction of Honda BR-V is a further testament of our commitment to the market,” Hachigo said.
Honda has been associated with the Indian market for 20 years now. Taking about this long association, Katsushi Inoue, President and CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “As we celebrate 20 years of our existence in India and building an affinity with over 1 Million Indian customers, HCIL is adopting a new brand direction of “Advanced and Exciting” and our products, dealerships and communication will be guided by this new brand direction. Year 2015 has been a very successful year for HCIL as we achieved our record sales of 200,000 units in a calendar year. The launch of exciting new models Honda BR-V and Accord in 2016 will help us accelerate our growth this year and also strengthen our brand in the country.”
Honda’s theme for the year ahead is “Advanced and Exciting” and as an extension of this message was the company’s booth’s theme at the Auto Expo — “Accelerate with Honda”.
