TapFin to collaborate with IIT Bombay to promote innovation in Electric Vehicle Technologies

TapFin, a sustainability tech platform, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) to drive collaboration in electric vehicle (EV) technologies. This partnership aims to tackle challenges related to EV financing and introduce innovative solutions that make electric vehicle ownership more accessible while discovering commercially viable and sustainable use cases for EV deployment.

The collaboration between TapFin and IIT Bombay will bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering a vibrant ecosystem where knowledge exchange, research, and skill development flourish. By partnering with the prestigious EV Powertrain Lab at IIT Bombay, TapFin aims to harness the academic institution’s expertise and provide industry insights to develop real-world solutions for the EV sector.

Under the MoU, TapFin and IIT Bombay will jointly conduct research and facilitate knowledge exchange to create practical, industry-ready solutions in the electric vehicle ecosystem. This collaboration will give IIT Bombay students increased exposure to industry trends and challenges, enabling them to work on real-world projects that align with the evolving needs of the EV sector.

TapFin will leverage IIT Bombay’s cutting-edge research capabilities to enhance its innovations in EV financing, business solutions, and sustainable deployment models. In turn, the company will support students and researchers through access to industry data, real-world case studies, and opportunities for skill development.

A key component of this partnership is TapFin’s involvement in IIT Bombay’s annual EV Career Day. This event will provide students with direct exposure to industry challenges and career opportunities, strengthening the link between academic training and practical industry application. By participating in this event, TapFin will identify and recruit top talent to support its mission of driving innovation in green mobility.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with IIT Bombay’s EV Powertrain Lab. This MoU marks a significant step in our commitment to driving innovation in green mobility. By tapping into the brilliant minds at IIT Bombay, we look forward to pushing the boundaries of EV technology and creating solutions that have a real-world impact,” said Aditya Singh, Co-Founder and CEO of TapFin.

Prof. Sandeep Anand, from IIT Bombay, echoed the sentiment: “The partnership with TapFin aligns with our mission to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry. The EV Lab is excited to work with TapFin to develop industry-focused research and solutions that will shape the future of electric mobility.”

This partnership between TapFin and IIT Bombay reflects their shared commitment to supporting India’s vision of a sustainable, green future. Through advancements in electric vehicle technology and ecosystem development, both parties aim to make significant contributions to India’s journey toward net-zero emissions and sustainable transportation solutions.

Founded in 2023, TapFin offers an integrated, tech-led approach to sustainability, focusing on financing, value-added services, and income-generation opportunities, particularly for small-fleet aggregators in the electric vehicle space.
