Tesla will start delivering its all-new Tesla Model S Plaid to customers from June 10, 2021. The EV giant announced that the market launch of its much-awaited model will happen at the Tesla Factory in Fremont at 7pm Pacific time and will be streamed live.
Model S Plaid will pack a 390-mile range battery with 1,020 horsepower. Tesla also claims the Model S Plaid as the quickest accelerating car in production currently. According to the company’s website the Model S Plaid can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 1.99 seconds and has a top speed of 200 miles per hour and an estimated range of 390 miles.
Meanwhile, the EV maker has also decided to put brakes on the production of Model S Plaid + model, which was touted as the world’s fastest car. Tesla CEO on Monday said Tesla Inc’s longest-range Model S Plaid+ is canceled, CEO Elon Musk said in a tweet. Musk on Monday called the Model S Plaid the “quickest production car ever made of any kind.”
Justifying the last-minute U turn, Musk said in a tweet that there is simply “no need” for the Plaid Plus, as the standard Plaid variant is “just so good.”

Model S Plaid plus, which was touted as Tesla’s highest-end model with a driving range of 520 miles, was unveiled at a battery event last year and Musk said it would adopt its next-generation 4680 battery cells. The production of the model was supposed to start this year, but was later pushed back to 2022.
