Slain’s New Single “FireSea” Ft. Siddharth Basrur
Bangalore-based progressive rock band Slain and their own choir The Choral Riff released a new single titled “Firesea” featuring Siddharth Basrur (ex-Goddess Gagged) on vocals yesterday, March 31. The single that emits the typical Slain-bred alt-rock vibe comes with an exception that talks about an oxymoronic ‘firesea’ meant to toughen one’s will. Mixed and mastered by Keshav Dhar of Illusion Audio and Skyharbor, the single sees a dominant structural pattern taking the song from start to finish effortlessly.
Though Slain draws its influence from legends like Dream Theater and Angra among others, it manages to retain hints of classic rock lining its compositions. Their full length album Here & Beyond (buy here), which was released in 2010, received much acclaim across a smorgasbord of audiences, out of which the single “More than Conquerors” winning ‘Song of the Year’ at the JD Rock awards the same year served as a validation.
Meanwhile, you can contribute to the crowd funding efforts run by Bangalore Open Air’s third edition here. Listen to “Firesea” below.
