Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2: the all new and very much expensive foldable smartphone
After Samsung Galaxy Fold failed to live up to the expectation last year, breaking down completely, the smartphone giant is set to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 2 on September 18. It looks like anyother regular smartphone but transforms into a tablet when you open it up.
Smartphone reviewers have described Samsung’s new foldable model as a ‘much more polished version of that future’. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will leave a hole in your wallets with cost of US$2,000. The price range in India is just a little over one lakh, that is Rs 1,08,999. the Galaxy Z Fold 2 comes with a bigger screen, flexible glass rather than plastic, more viewing and multi-tasking options, a 5G connection and more camera modes. Samsung’s latest foldable smartphone is all about premium. The well-built device is all metal and glass with a bigger, but thin screen on the outside.
The more fragile inside display comes with a screen protector and teh edges are protected by plastic and metal. The inside display is made from super-thin but fragile glass. The display also has a higher refresh rate, meaning that everything looks smoother when scrolling through apps or websites. The camera is a single 10mp. Overall, there are five camera, including one on the front, one on the inside big screen, and three on the back, with one for zooming of course, and one for those regular pictures and one for wide angle shots.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is up for competition against Microsoft’s Surface smartphone. Microsoft Surface comes with two screens, held side-by-side, that can flip over on one another or lie flat to create a 8.1 inch tablet. And its starting price is US$1,399. The downside of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is that its quite fragile and expensive.
