HMD Global released its first Nokia-branded Android smartphone – Nokia 6. While the company was expected to make its comeback to the smartphone market some time during the year, few would have predicted it to be done so soon.
Since Microsoft overtook the company (and later disinvested in its devices division), this would be the first smartphone stamped with Nokia-brand. Chinese manufacturer Foxconn is now developing the product.
On Sunday, the phone was made official on the company’s website, here’s the specs and other information about the new Nokia 6:
Processor
It carries a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset with a 1.4GHz Octa core processor and Adreno 505 GPU.
RAM
The phone consists of a 4GB RAM
Software
It runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and the interface is also close to stock Android
Internal Storage
The Nokia 6 contains 64GB of internal storage and is expandable using a microSD card – up to 128GB.
Screen
It has a 5.5-inch 1080p display enveloped with a curved 2.5D Gorilla Glass.
Rear camera
The phone houses a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/20 aperture lens with Phase Detection Autofocus and dual LED (dual tone) flash.
Front camera
The front is mounted with an 8-megapixel camera
Battery
The Nokia 6 has a non-removable 3,000mAh battery
The phone will be available in China for now but is expected to be in India soon. It is priced at 1699 CNY, roughly converting to about Rs. 16,739 – however it could vary once launched in India.
